VP JD Vance to World Cup visitors: “Enjoy the game, then go home”
U.S. Vice President JD Vance issued a light-hearted but firm warning to international visitors planning to attend the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
“We know we’ll have visitors, probably from close to a hundred countries. We want them to come. We want them to celebrate. We want them to enjoy the games,” said Vance during a press conference on Tuesday focused on the organization of upcoming major sporting events in the U.S.
“But when it’s over, they’ll have to go home,” he added.
Vance, speaking in a joking tone, also mentioned Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, saying, “Otherwise, they’ll have to speak with Secretary Noem.”
The comment came during the first joint working session aimed at preparing for the 2026 World Cup, which will feature 48 national teams and take place across multiple cities in North America.

Según informó el portal Mizan Online, vinculado al poder judicial de Irán, Majid Mosayebi fue ahorcado luego de que su sentencia fuera confirmada por la Corte Suprema. El informe señaló que el condenado había intentado proporcionar “información sensible” al Mosad.

Venezuela condemns U.S. strike on Iran, calls It a threat to global peace
Venezuela strongly condemned the recent U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, calling them “a direct threat to international peace” and demanding an immediate end to hostilities.
In an official statement released on Saturday, Venezuela reaffirmed its solidarity with the Iranian people and reiterated its commitment to peace, sovereignty, and the defense of international law as the only viable path toward peaceful coexistence among nations.
The condemnation came hours after U.S. President Donald Trump announced on the Truth Social platform that U.S. forces had successfully carried out airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear facilities—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.
In a televised address from the White House, Trump declared that the operation was completed “successfully” and issued a warning to Tehran: “There will be peace or tragedy for Iran,” urging the country to choose peace.
According to Pentagon sources, the airstrikes targeted Iran’s heavily fortified Fordow facility, located beneath a mountain and central to the country’s uranium enrichment program. The attacks reportedly involved B-2 bombers equipped with GBU-57 bunker-buster bombs weighing over 13,000 kilograms.
Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil shared the government’s official statement via Telegram, denouncing the bombings as an “illegal, unjustifiable, and extremely dangerous act of military aggression.” The statement also claimed the strike was carried out “at the request of the State of Israel.”
The government of President Nicolás Maduro described the attack as part of “an irresponsible escalation” of the conflict, warning that it could have unpredictable and far-reaching consequences for global stability.

Mexican forces seize fentanyl and meth in major border drug busts
Mexican authorities announced on Saturday the arrest of three individuals in Ciudad Juárez, near the U.S. border, who were found with 110,000 fentanyl pills during a joint operation with the FBI.
Mexico’s security forces have increased drug seizures and arrests of traffickers amid pressure from the Trump administration to crack down on the trafficking of illicit substances—especially the deadly fentanyl, which has been responsible for hundreds of deaths in the United States.
According to a statement from the Public Security Secretariat, two men and a woman were arrested after a brief chase while traveling in a vehicle in Ciudad Juárez.
“During an inspection, officers discovered 10 packages wrapped in transparent plastic containing a total of 110,000 fentanyl pills,” the agency said, without specifying the exact date of the operation.
The woman is a U.S. citizen, one of the men holds dual Mexican-American nationality, and no further details were provided about the third individual.
The operation involved Mexico’s Army, Navy, and National Guard, and was carried out “in collaboration with the FBI,” the statement added.
“These arrests are part of the binational coordination efforts to stop drug trafficking,” the agency emphasized.
In a separate announcement, the Public Security Secretariat reported the arrest of a person transporting 322 kilograms of methamphetamine in Tijuana, another city on the U.S.-Mexico border. Following that arrest, security forces raided a property where an additional 422 kilograms of meth were found.
While methamphetamine is primarily intended for the U.S. market, official reports indicate that consumption within Mexico is also on the rise.
