The world-renowned sports car company, Ferrari, has joined the FIA to promote the “FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars” program, ensuring the first female driver reaches the category of pilot queen.

The Ferrari Driver Academy will play an important role in this and talents such as Charles Leclerc will be key to the program.

This Maranello based company is the right one to achieve this, because it occupies an important position with the Scuderia Ferrari, which started to compete alongside Alfa Romeo and Fiat drivers and cars.

Last Friday, before the 2024 Mexico City Series between the Astros and Rockies at Alfredo Harp Helú Stadium in Mexico City, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador met with representatives from both teams.

Through his social media, the President shared his interaction with executives from the Houston and Colorado teams, as well as with Astros’ Mexican pitcher, José Urquidy.

“Yesterday (Friday), before starting the tour, I had breakfast with executives and friends from the Houston Astros and the Colorado Rockies. There’s increasingly more baseball fever in our country,” López Obrador wrote.

The photos also featured former Mexican major leaguers Vinicio “Vinny” Castilla and Jorge de la Rosa, both of whom played for the Colorado team.

Social media star Om Fahad fatally shot in Baghdad

An Iraqi TikToker, previously sentenced to prison last year for posting content deemed “indecent” on social media, was fatally shot in Baghdad on Friday, according to two security officials.

Om Fahad, who had tens of thousands of followers on TikTok and Instagram, gained fame for her videos featuring her in tight outfits dancing to Iraqi music, in a country that is predominantly conservative and patriarchal.

The young woman was shot by an assailant on a motorcycle while she was in her vehicle outside her home in central Baghdad, two security officials reported anonymously to AFP.

In February 2023, a court initially sentenced Om Fahad to six months in jail for “publishing various videos with indecent intentions that violate modesty and public morals.”

U.S. Intelligence reports Putin likely didn’t order Navalny’s killing

U.S. intelligence agencies have concluded that Russian President Vladimir Putin “probably” did not order the killing of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, according to reports from U.S. media this Saturday.

However, U.S. officials have been unable to determine the exact cause of Navalny’s death in February, the reports stated.

According to The Wall Street Journal, a report circulated among various U.S. government agencies does not absolve Putin of responsibility, but does state that he did not directly order the killing of the opposition figure.

President Joe Biden has directly blamed Putin for Navalny’s death and his administration has imposed several sanctions on Russia in retaliation.

When asked during a press conference whether he believed the Russian opposition leader’s death was an “assassination,” Biden responded, “We don’t know exactly what happened, but there’s no doubt that Navalny’s death is a result of something done by Putin and his thugs.”

According to Russian penitentiary services, Navalny, aged 47, died after feeling unwell following a walk in the prison where he was being held. Despite efforts by medical staff to revive him for over half an hour, he succumbed.

In December last year, Navalny was transferred from a prison in the Vladimir region, less than 200 kilometers from Moscow, to a facility in Karp, in the Arctic Circle near the Ural Mountains.

Navalny had previously survived a 2020 assassination attempt involving the chemical agent Novichok, and his health had been a growing concern after he went on a hunger strike between March and April 2021, during which he lost a significant amount of weight.
